Assembly took a while but it's sturdy, reliable and easy to use. We tested the three burner, but there are also two and four burner models available.

Our reviewer managed to assemble the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S barbecue all on her own, which is both impressive and not how it's recommended to be assembled. It's good to know that you can though, and once we got to using it, we found that this BBQ is sturdy and intelligently-designed.

We tested the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S barbecue to see if its self-cleaning and modular cooking system was up to the task, and were very impressed. We found that it was more than capable of cooking for over 12 people at once, and the warming rack was great for catering to even more people. The Campingaz 4 Series Premium S has four burners, a wealth of in-built storage, and a side burner to cook up side dishes. 

There's a thermometer on the top lid of the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S that accurately shows the temperature as you're cooking. This helped to make sure our food was still cooking when the lid was down, and because the dials could ramp down the temperature with ease, it offers complete control when cooking steak, etc. 

If you hate cleaning your barbecue, you're not alone. Campingaz took this into account though, and created InstaClean Aqua technology that flushes out fat and grease from the BBQ without any hard work on your part. It really does work, too. Just make sure you have a place to empty it out when it's finished.

Contributing writer Ginevra Benedetti tested the Char-Broil All Star gas barbecue in her London home, and enjoyed its compact frame when compared to many of the gas BBQs she's tested. It's ideal for smaller families and it offers plenty of cooking and storage space. We tested it on a small patio and it proves itself to be the perfect cooking companion, time and time again. In short: it's faff-free, affordable, and has everything you need to cook up a storm for yourself and a few others.

It took us two hours to assemble this BBQ, which while a standard amount of time, took more time because we made a number of fiddly mistakes. A reasonably-priced option (note that this model regularly goes on sale for below the £399 RRP), we noted that the plastic panels that coat the legs were a little on the flimsy side, but the metal legs were sturdy and dependable. 

It might take some getting used to, but this compact gas barbecue is brilliant. With cast-iron grill grates that are durable, rust-resistant and easy to clean, it promises to cook evenly and with fewer flare-ups, using TRU-infrared technology. It has a built-in thermometer dial so that you know when it's ready (it takes around 10 minutes), and a handy keep-warm shelf to help get the right timings. The side shelves provide room for prep but they’re foldable, keeping it slim when you’re not cooking.

Our reviewer was instantly wowed by the stylish edge this BBQ brought to her garden. It was love at first sight, but the Everdure Furnace also impressed us with its easy controls and assembly. The latest barbecue from world-renowned chef Heston Blumenthal, it's the ultimate gas barbecue for anyone who would rather spend money on a barbecue that's created with style in mind. Whilst testing, we found that it's great for amateurs and chefs alike, and we loved that it has three burners that you can individually control. It's a prime example of both function and form.

Ready to cook within five minutes, you can use this gas BBQ to cook pretty much anything you desire. With a built-in temperature gauge, it's easy to use even when you're cooking for a large group of people. It's plenty sizeable for tackling a party, in fact, it can cook up to 28 burgers at one time, and it has heaps of space so that you can separate your burgers from your wings and your veggies. 

Unfortunately, it doesn't have a keep-warm space, although you could use one of the burners on the lowest temperature for this. Design-wise, it comes in a range of colours and offers storage space underneath for holding everything from your buns to your sauces. And in terms of build, it's definitely made to survive years of use, though it's too nice to leave outside for the elements to damage. It's on wheels for easy moving.

We also tested the Everdure Force 2 which is a very similar barbecue but with two burners instead of three. We rated this 4 stars out of 5 also. If you have a smaller budget, a smaller family and a smaller garden, then go for the Force 2 instead of the Furnace.

Love to travel? The Weber Traveler LP BLK Gas Barbecue is a top pick for you. We admit, it might be overkill to take this one on holiday when there are so many mini BBQs out there, but this storage-friendly model would be perfect for those with limited shed space. It has a generous cooking area but folds down to a pull-along for easy transportation. 

We rated it 4.5-stars out of 5, mostly because of how easy it is to use, clean and cart around. It's app-connected, too, and it offers a handy prep surface. It's the ultimate portable gas BBQ for large families that might want to avoid a charcoal option. If you're often staycationing, then this is the buy for you.

Beyond the sturdy wheels and grippy handle, the Weber Traveler is very capable. It has a surprisingly large 2065cm squared cooking area, which was able to cook up an entire tomahawk steak and lots of corn, with plenty of surplus room on the burner. We think it could cook for four to six people, easy. 

The BBQ itself folds flat like a pram, but because it has a handle and all-weather wheels, all you need to do is pull it along behind you. It's also got smaller, disposable gas canisters that won't take up much space, either. Whilst handy for being on the go, it's something to consider if you're trying to be eco-conscious. In terms of storage, take a look at the tool hooks at the front of the grill, which will support all the BBQ tools you need.

If you are searching for a portable barbecue to take on staycations, camping or on a trip to the seaside, then this one from Weber is brilliant. It comes in your choice of gas or charcoal, but we tested the charcoal model in particular, in a London garden that's compact in size and it fared well. It offers everything a normal-size charcoal BBQ can, without a huge amount of floor space required. 

It's the best bet for anyone short on space with a tiny budget and a small family to feed. Just bear in mind that the gas version uses disposable gas canisters which aren't the best when it comes to eco-credentials.

One of Webers' most immense barbecues to date, the Weber Genesis II EX-335 GBS is a state-of-the-art option. Our editor tried it and she still loves it to date. It's the top gas BBQ for serious foodies and offers total control over three burners. And, it's definitely built to last, backed by a 10-year warranty. 

We enjoyed using the Weber Connect Smart Grilling app for notifications about when our food would be ready. This made it a lot easier to deliver that perfectly medium-rare steak. We found that the Weber Genesis II EX-335 GBS is as smart as they come when we put it to the test. It has three gas burners, smart cooking, and a great warranty. 

With a generous cooking area, you can serve up for a large party with this model and the warming rack means you can get all the timings right. We really enjoyed the height of the grill, and the side burner is also far more capable than many of the best barbecues we have tested. The stainless-steel Flavorizer Bars of this model promise the flavour barbecued food should have, but with the adjustability of gas and the simplicity of electronic ignition. 

Those who love a bit of smart tech will enjoy Weber's Connect app, which allows you to get stuck-in remotely. It syncs your phone to your grill and allows you to add details on the type of meat you're cooking to get the perfect temperature and timing for your food. A probe also monitors the internal temperature. 

The best gas BBQs we're currently reviewing

The top seven BBQs we mentioned have been tried and tested by our expert team, but the models below are works in progress. We've included them in this guide because of their stellar user reviews and enduring popularity, and we're aiming to have full reviews for all of them before the first BBQ of next year. 

This is a very popular gas BBQ, so we knew we had to include it in our roundup even though we haven't got a dedicated review. We're working on that, so watch this space. 

For now, we'll note that our Head of Reviews has used it on countless occasions as it's been her family's BBQ of choice for close to six years. She loves its portability, with a removable base that means it can be bundled into the boot of a car for their annual trip to Cornwall. Cleaning it can be tricky, as those grates get easily caked up and require a good scrape to keep them free of marks and stains. 

It will serve up to six people on its two burners, and while the frame is small, the grill covers the entire top surface area so no space is wasted. It can cook 14 burgers at any one time, making it ideal for families and for cooking for BBQ parties.

This BBQ might be more compact than others on our list, but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in features. The frame is glass-reinforced nylon, and the burners are stainless steel. The body itself is cast aluminium and comes with an in-built thermometer. It also has two side tables that can be folded away easily, and a storage shelf underneath the aluminium frame that keeps tools and other essentials nearby. Its handle even has a light for cooking in the dark.

It’s easy to put the Weber Spirit II E-320 GBS Gas BBQ exactly where you want it when you’re barbecuing, even if you only have a balcony as your outside space. It's also on wheels to make it easy to move around into the sun or shade or away from the wind. It has a sizeable cooking space plus a warming rack. And it even has a thermometer built into its lid for easy monitoring before and during cooking.

The cart below the BBQ ensures there’s still plenty of storage once the BBQ is in place, and there are tool hooks as well. Plus, you can use the Gourmet Barbecue System to switch out your grates for pizza stones, griddles, roasters and more. Though compact, it's still quite versatile!

What is the best gas BBQ? 

Here’s a quick recap the top gas BBQ that we'd recommend is the Weber Genesis II EX-335 GBS. It's a smart gas BBQ (in more ways than one) that will enable you to monitor everything from the Weber Connect app on your phone. Once set up, which admittedly does take a bit of time, you can simply let the gas grill do all the hard work while you relax in the backyard.

It's big in stature so don't expect to hide it away easily during winter; the side tables don't drop down either. A suitable cover would be a good investment here. It's all worth it because everyone can be catered for, it's sturdy, and impressive cooking results can be achieved.

Last time we checked though, this BBQ was out of stock, so we would recommend the Char-Broil Gas2Coal Hybrid Grill as a close second. It's more affordable than the Weber, and it's got a hybrid design that will convert it to a charcoal BBQ if you'd rather a smokey sear on your hot dogs.

Getting hands-on experience with all the products which you see featured in our guides is important to us, which is why we have called in all but a few for us to review in our own gardens. We were blown away in testing by how powerful the Traeger PRO 575 Pellet Grill is when it comes to smoking, grilling and cooking. It's definitely one for serious cooks, or for anyone who likes to impress their guests. Cook fish, meat and veggies with this pellet grill. It's got a drum-shaped body that can fit larger cuts of meat, too. It's an ideal buy for anyone with plenty of patio space, and a love for outdoor cooking.

A Wi-Fi-operated grill? You heard us right. You can receive alerts when your food reaches the ideal temperature, and monitor your grill from the Traeger app even when you're indoors. Simply fill the hopper with pellets, plug it in, switch it on at the back, select the temperature you want it to reach, press the ignite button and you’re sorted. It automatically adds more pellets when required, and if you're cooking a joint of meat it makes sense to use the meat probe. This connects to your phone so that you can check cooking progress as you rustle up a side salad or clean the house before guests arrive. Considering its size, it's also quite simple to clean after use, too.

Taking only 40 minutes to assemble, we were off to a great start with the Char-Broil Big Easy Smoker, Roaster and Grill. For the price, it looks like a premium model that will stand the test of time, with an unconventional design that's probably more akin to the type of BBQ you'd buy in the USA. It allows you to slow cook inside the barrel of the BBQ, and you can use wood chips to smoke your meat for heaps of extra flavour. 

The actual cooking surface is a little small for feasting, so it's better suited to those cooking for three or four people than serious garden parties. We used this BBQ to roast chicken, slow-cook pork shoulder, and even make a speedy pizza that might just rival the best pizza ovens. 

This BBQ is gas-powered, and because the cooking surface sits top the main drum body of the grill, it means it will take a longer time to pre-heat than most BBQs. Cooking was very even though, and once again we took full advantage of the smoking modes here to make some extra flavourful sausages. Delish. 

At just 37cm in diameter and 3.5kg in weight, this tabletop BBQ is the best buy for anyone with a smaller garden, terrace or balcony to work with. It's a great option if you're on a smaller budget, too. We tested this BBQ over a number of uses and have decided it's best for anyone who needs something compact that won't take up any floor space in their garden. The only reason it's not our best for portability is that its tuck-n-carry lid isn't the most secure when carting around from A to B.

Its lid gives your food a desirable yet subtle smoky taste, and with enough cooking space for 6+ burgers or three steaks, you could use this BBQ to cook a small chicken or an entire Tomahawk steak. The lid also can sit on a stand to shield wind away whilst your BBQ is lighting, or whilst it's lit. It comes in six colours and can be left outside, whilst it's also easy to clean with dishwasher-safe parts.

You may think that it has to be charcoal for a proper BBQ, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the easy ignition that other models will offer you. The Everdure Fusion needs to be plugged in, but once you've done that it will ignite your charcoal in just seven minutes. It also has a rotisserie button, which when using the rotisserie attachment included will keep your chicken, sausages, kebabs, or whatever else you might cook spinning for a juicy finish.

We adored the look of this BBQ. It's totally modern, and can be used freestanding or with the included stand which is very sturdy. Assembly was a breeze, only taking 30 minutes in total. The cooking area was enough to feed at least four, but the lack of lid means you'll be unable to keep food warm once it's finished cooking. 

When using the rotisserie it had a bit of a wobble, which might be because we used the rotisserie rods on the highest of three settings. We didn't have the same issue on the other two. And the taste? Deliciously smokey, just how we like it.

This compact barbecue offers a surprisingly spacious cooking area for the fact it's a tabletop. It has a built-in temperature gauge that will let you know when it's up to temperature for baking, cooking, searing or smoking. We used this barbecue to cook 6 burgers at one time and noticed its handles stayed cool to the touch, whilst it retains heat very well. It's also super easy to clean after use and thanks to its compact size it's easy to store, just bear in mind it's heavy.

Tried, tested and loved by us, this brilliant portable BBQ works using charcoal, and it cooks food impressively well considering it doesn't come with a lid that you can use whilst in operation. We think that this tabletop BBQ is ideal for smaller families or couples with not a lot of space on offer to buy a charcoal BBQ since it sits on a tabletop and looks pretty at the same time. Otherwise, it's handy for taking camping, on staycations or to the beach or for a pretty picnic.

Complete with a bamboo preparation board and a plastic food storage tray, all parts of this barbecue stack together, held secure with strong clips. When it comes to cooking, it's great for smaller crowds and can be used to batch cook, though we would probably avoid cooking a joint on there as it doesn't have a lid that you can use whilst cooking. You can also position the charcoal wherever you like, to directly cook your food or (slowly) indirectly cook pieces of meat or fish. 

Available in four stylish colours, this portable BBQ gets 5-stars from us when it comes to looks. With metal handles, you can bring it in from the unreliable British weather and store it in a cupboard with complete ease since it cannot be left outside in the rain. You can put the grates in your dishwasher to clean them, but the interior of the BBQ is a little harder to keep looking its best.

How to buy the best patio heater

When shopping around for the perfect patio heater for your home, make sure you look at these four important things.

• Heat Output The heat output of a gas or wood pellet-powered patio heater is measured by BTUs or British Thermal Units. You don’t really need to understand how the units work, just that the more BTUs a patio heater can produce, the warmer you’ll be. A typical patio heater puts out on average of 45,000 BTUs. As for electric patio heaters, they’re measured by wattage. Most outdoor electric patio heaters will need a higher wattage to heat the cool air. Infrared patio heaters are a bit different in that it heats the objects in the surrounding area and not the air, so it doesn’t require as much energy to do so. Don’t forget to look at the radius of the heat output. Some patio heaters can heat up to 18 feet in diameter! 
• Safety features Safety is especially important when it comes to patio heaters because you don’t want to use a product that could start a fire. Make sure that no matter the patio heater you buy, it has a feature that will shut off the gas valve or the electricity if the heater tips over or has a timer that will cut the electric heater off after a certain amount of time. Also, be sure to store your fuel appropriately. Propane, for example, should be stored in a cool environment, away from direct sunlight. Wood pellets can be stored indoors, so long it's dry and moisture-free, as humidity will affect the burn quality of the organic material.
• Style If you’ve put in the effort to design a backyard patio to be trendy, stylish, or reflect your personality, make sure you purchase a patio heater that blends in with your vision. Patio heaters come in all different shapes – like pyramid or mushroom towers – and in different shades of bronze, silver, or matte black to complement your outdoor decor. Electric patio heaters are great if you have the capability to mount them out of the way, so they don’t pull focus from the patio setup or get knocked over. Some patio heaters have been integrated into fans or hanging lamps, offering additional ways to add warmth to your outdoor hangs. Do carry out an assessment on your surroundings if you do hang your heat source from a height. 
• Extra perks A patio heater that is portable – whether that means it has wheels or can be easily dismantled – might be something you want to consider for your outdoor heating ideas, especially if you want to sit in different areas on your patio or take the heater on a camping trip. Some electric patio heaters have remote controls and timers which are convenient. If you plan to leave your patio heater outdoors, make sure you buy one that is water-resistant and comes with a waterproof cover. This will ensure you can use your patio heater for years to come. 

Which patio heater power source is best?

Patio heaters are typically powered by 20- or 30-lb gas propane tanks or electricity, but some are powered by wood pellets. If you choose a patio heater that’s powered by gas, you’re going to have to factor in additional costs. You’ll spend about $30-$40 on a 20-lb propane tank and $70-$80 on a 30-lb tank.

Of course, using an electric patio heater will also add a bit to your electricity bill. And a wood pellet heater? It uses a 20-lb bag of wood pellets which costs about $18 per bag.

Along with the different types of patio heater, each model also offers a different level of power – something you’ll want to consider before making a purchase. Power for patio heaters is measured in BTU (British Thermal Units), and as you’d expect, the higher the BTU, the more power your patio heater will offer you.

Typically, the best propane patio heaters are the most powerful you can buy, with a BTU of 40,000 or above. Electric patio heaters, however, have a BTU that can range anywhere from 5,000 to 14,000 but you won’t have to keep buying propane to keep them running.

No yard is complete without the best grill. Whether it's a gas, charcoal or pellet model, a grill will see you through the summer months with endless family cookouts and garden parties. Choosing the best grill will require a bit of research, but we've done the hard work for you and tested top choices from Weber, Char-Broil, Big Green Egg and more. 

While testing, we took into consideration how easy these grills were to assemble, the convenience of the cleaning process, and the additional features on offer. Some grills come with smartphone controls that allow you to monitor the temperature of your food or remotely, and other pellet grills come with self-feeding hoppers that keep fuel levels at the perfect point for your desired heat level. Most importantly, we made sure these grills did a brilliant job of cooking everything from sausages to steaks. 

There are a few signs of a great grill all of which we tested for in our grill reviews. One is the consistency of the heating elements, which make sure that your food is evenly cooked through without any toughness. Many opt for charcoal grills to make sure their food comes out smokey and packed with barbecue flavor, but an increasing amount of the best gas grills come with cast-iron grates to allow it to season over time, delivering max flavor for your flame-grilled chicken or veggies. 

The best grills of 2026

If you like smart tech then you're going to love cooking on this smart grill. Once you've built the Weber Genesis II EX-335 GBS (it takes a bit of time), you'll be able to monitor everything from your phone, so you can simply let the gas grill do all the hard work while you relax in the backyard.  It's this built-in smart technology that gives this grill its premium price.

There's no denying that this grill is big in stature so if you want to store it inside during the colder months then you'll need a large space in your shed or garage. The side tables don't drop down flat either, so you can't even reduce the width of the BBQ to help with storage. It would be worth investing in a suitable cover if you want or need to keep it outside.

It's advised in the manual that the grill will need a thorough deep clean at least twice a year, but if you use it fairly regularly then you should aim to do this quarterly. The instructions are pretty comprehensive and this took us around 45 minutes to do when reviewing it.

If you have preconceived notions about charcoal grills – throw them out. The Large Big Green Egg, as featured in our best kamado grill guide, surpasses everything you think you know about charcoal grilling and is a great one to introduce you to this grilling style. This kamado-style grill and smoker is designed with an interior ceramic material that allows for temperatures of up to 750 degrees and versatile cooking experiences, including baking, roasting, grilling, or smoking. 

Many people dislike charcoal grills because the lighting process can seem complicated, but that’s not the case with this egg. Just fill up the Large Big Green Egg with lump charcoal (never use briquets or lighter fluid), open the chimney and bottom draft door, and then light a fire starter. It takes 15 minutes to heat to about 400 degrees. Manage the temperature by opening and closing the chimney and watch the temperature move up and down on the built-in gauge. 

You can cook quite a bit on the Large Big Green Egg, from steaks to ribs, vegetables, soups, and chili. Smoking meats, like fall-of-the-bone ribs, brisket, or salmon, is easily done with this grill. Bake desserts, bread, or even a pizza (especially with the added purchase of a convEGGtor, a ceramic barrier that allows for indirect cooking). The only drawback is that the price for the Large Big Green Egg doesn’t include a cart to hold the grill, which is necessary if you don’t have an outdoor kitchen which you want to integrate the grill into.

This compact and affordable grill from Char-Griller comes highly rated by our reviewer Alex. She enjoyed using this gas grill in her yard, for cooking everything from veggies to fish and meat, all at the same time. It's very easy to use thanks to its smart capabilities, which means that you can cook alfresco minus the stress of timings, and without the need to constantly check on your barbecue. It has a generous cooking area considering its compact size, and it even has a warming rack. 

A very simple to use grill, it has porcelain-coated steel and cast-iron cooking grates though you'll need to season them ahead of use. What we love about this grill is that you can set the desired temperature and it will alert you once it's ready for your food. It also has a built-in meat probe and a fan, plus a removable warming rack. It's great for cooking for large parties. It offers plenty of onboard storage thanks to two side shelves and a couple of hooks for your tools. Plus, it has a shelf underneath the actual grill for holding drinks, etc...

Whilst cooking, we noticed that this grill did burn through charcoal quite fast. When it comes to cleaning and maintenance, ash removal is simple. You can roll it back into your garage afterward or buy a cover and leave it out.

Can't decide whether to cook on gas, or cook on coal? The Char-Broil Gas2Coal can do both. This is something which our reviewer loved about it; it was so convenient to be able to cook with gas, and tasty after throwing on some authentic smokey charcoal. The cooking results were preferred when cooking with charcoal, but the gas burners were so easy to ignite and made for a quick BBQ with painless clean-up. It really is the best of both worlds.

Assembly, however, did take a while but it was totally worth it. And another thing to note is that the side burner grate is positioned high above the burner itself, which means it's vulnerable to gusts of wind and also takes a while to heat a saucepan or frying pan. This is easy enough to just put down the cover of this burner and use it as a resting place, though. 

Cleaning and maintaining the Gas2Coal is relatively easy and is something which should be done after every use. It's a little messier to clean after using the coal owing to having to dispose of the ashes, but this is something which is to be expected when cooking with this fuel type.

If you are searching for a portable grill to take on vacations, or on a camping trip, then this one from Weber is brilliant. In fact, we tested it on a city terrace that's compact in size, and it fared very well. It offers everything a normal-size charcoal can, without a huge amount of floor space required to do so. It's the best bet for anyone short on space with a tiny budget and a small family to feed. Plus, it's totally faff-free with no extra features such as a side burner or Wi-Fi connectivity.

Equipped with a lid, you can use this grill to cook anything from a dozen burgers to kebabs, sausages, and even large joints of meat and veggies, too. Just bear in mind it doesn't have a built-in temperature dial. The size of its cooking space is impressive considering its footprint, though you might need to batch cook on it if you are cooking for a large group. You can also use it to indirectly cook your food and you could create a keep warm area on your grill. This all-in-one unit is easy to store and even easier to cart around. Its legs are foldable and help keep the grill secure when not in use. It's super easy to clean due to its compact size and you can put its grates in a dishwasher for ease. 

This grill also comes in a gas version for those who are interested in a portable grill but want the ease of gas cooking.

We were blown away in testing by how powerful the Traeger PRO 575 Pellet Grill is when it comes to smoking, grilling, and cooking. It's definitely one for serious cooks, or for anyone who likes to impress their guests. Cook fish, meat, and veggies with this pellet grill. It's got a drum-shaped body that can fit larger cuts of meat, too. It's an ideal buy for anyone with plenty of patio space, and a love for outdoor cooking.

A Wi-Fi-operated smoker grill? You heard us right. You can receive alerts when your food reaches the ideal temperature, and monitor your grill from the Traeger app even when you're indoors. Simply fill the hopper with pellets, plug it in, switch it on at the back, select the temperature you want it to reach, press the ignite button and you’re sorted. It automatically adds more pellets when required, and if you're cooking a joint of meat it makes sense to use the meat probe. This connects to your phone so that you can check cooking progress as you rustle up a side salad or clean the house before guests arrive. Considering its size, it's also quite simple to clean after use, too.

The smart design is what caught our eye with the Weber Traveler. It has a generous cooking area but folds down to a pull-along for easy transportation. We rated it 4.5-stars out of 5, mostly because of how easy it is to use, clean and cart around. It's app-connected, too, and it offers a handy prep surface. It's the ultimate portable gas grill for large families that might want to avoid a charcoal option. If you're often staycationing, then this is the buy for you.

Beyond the sturdy wheels and grippy handle, this grill is useful for more than just traveling. Because it folds flat we could imagine it propped against the wall of our garage when not in use. It's also got smaller, disposable gas canisters that won't take up much space, either. Whilst handy for being on the go, this is something to consider if you're trying to be eco-conscious. Design aside, we were wowed by the cooking space that Weber has been able to pack into the Traveler. It cooked up corn and an enormous tomahawk steak with plenty of space to spare. We think it could cook for four to six people, easy. 

The newest Weber grill to join the Genesis family, the SPX-435 is brilliant for any budding chefs, or for anyone who takes cooking on their grill seriously. This smart grill offers everything you need to cook a wow-worthy feast outdoors, to impress your neighbors and your dinner guests. Moreover, its features make it easy to use whether you are cooking for 4 or 24 people. It offers almost 1,000 square inches of cooking space in total, plus it has a side burner.

The Weber Genesis SPX-435 is capable of cooking anything. This even includes your Thanksgiving turkey, plus extras. Even better? You can use it after dark thanks to its built-in lighting, plus it has plenty of space to keep any food warm to help balance timings. It features heaps of storage including two side tables (one of which is a secret burner) for extra prep space. It also has a storage locker underneath. It has a thermometer probe to ensure your meat and fish are properly cooked to perfection, this probe is smart and will notify your phone once your food is ready. Just bear in mind that this grill can't keep itself at a set temperature without your help.

When it comes to storage, you'll need to ensure you have somewhere spacious for this grill to live in the wetter months. A large grill like this does require some time spent on maintenance. The grill grates need to be brushed before each use and you'll need to check for grease and discard any that might be lurking in the grill's tray.

The latest grill from world-renowned chef Heston Blumenthal, the Everdure Furnace is the ultimate gas grill for anyone with a keen eye for cooking, and for those who would rather spend money on something that's created with style in mind. This do-it-all model can have your food cooked fast, whilst looking lovely in your yard and impressing your guests in more ways than one. While testing, we found that it's great for amateurs and chefs alike, and we loved that it has three burners that you can individually control. It's a prime example of both function and form.

Ready to cook within five minutes, you can use this gas grill to cook pretty much anything you desire. With a built-in temperature gauge, it's easy to use even when you're cooking for a large group of people. It's plenty sizeable for tackling a party, in fact, it can cook up to 28 burgers at one time, and it has heaps of space so that you can separate your burgers from your wings and your veggies. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a keep warm space although you could use one of the burners on the lowest temperature for this. Design-wise, it comes in a range of colors and offers storage space underneath for holding everything from your buns to your Ketchup. And in terms of build, it's definitely made to survive years of use, though it's too nice to leave outside for the elements to damage. It's on wheels for easy moving.

We also tested the Everdure Force 2 which is a very similar barbecue but with two burners instead of three. We rated this 4 stars out of 5 also. If you have a smaller budget, a smaller family, and a smaller yard, then go for the Force 2 instead of the Furnace.

At just 14.5" in diameter, this tabletop grill is the best buy for anyone with a smaller yard, terrace, or balcony to work with. It's a great option if you're on a smaller budget, too. Not to mention that it cooks burgers exceptionally well, plus you can fit more than you would think on its cooking space. We tested this grill over a number of uses and have decided it's best for anyone who needs something compact that won't take up any floor space in their yard.

Compact and lightweight at just 7.7lbs, this grill stands on three legs and it comes with a lid so that you can evenly cook your food every time. This lid will give your food a desirable yet subtle smoky taste, and with enough cooking space for 6+ burgers or three steaks, you could also use this grill to cook a small chicken with ease. We even used it to cook an entire Tomahawk steak. Just bear in mind that since it's fuelled with charcoal it doesn't have temperature control. The lid also can sit on a stand to shield wind away whilst your grill is lighting, or whilst it's lit.

Due to its nature, you can take this grill with you to the beach, for a picnic, or even on vacation. Its lid handle even tucks under the main handle, though we noticed when testing that this isn't the most secure if you are worried about ash or charcoal spillage. It's available in six fancy color options and it can easily fit under your arm for carrying, or inside a cabinet for storing, and you can leave it outside if need be. When it comes to cleaning, just give the cooking grates a rinse in your sink and wipe down the interior. It's pretty simple to keep clean.

When reviewing these grills we took into account everything from the assembly process to that all-important taste-test. 

Gas grills are well known to make life easier with easy ignition and adjustable heat levels using independently controlled burners. That's one of the things we really like about gas grills, even if you opt for a large model you can easily just turn on one burner to cook for a couple of people, meaning your fuel won't be wasted and you can grill as often as you please.

The best gas grills for 2026

One of Webers' most immense barbecues to date, the Weber Genesis II EX-335 GBS is a serious grill for those who really care about their barbecue. Our editor tried it and she still loves it to date. It's the top gas grill for serious foodies and offers total control over three burners. And, it's definitely built to last. 

We enjoyed using the Weber Connect Smart Grilling app for notifications about when our food would be ready. This made it a lot easier to deliver that perfectly medium-rare steak. With a generous cooking area, you can serve up for a large party with this model and the warming rack means you can get all the timings right. There was no problem catering for eight on this grill. 

We cooked a range of vegetables, such as sweet corn, peppers, and purple sprouting broccoli, as well as a selection of meats on a different part of the grill. We really enjoyed the height of the grill, and the side burner is also far more capable than many of the grills we have tested. 

The stainless-steel Flavorizer Bars of this model promise the flavor barbecued food should have, but with the adjustability of gas and the simplicity of electronic ignition. Weber's Connect app allows you to get smart when barbecuing. It syncs your phone to your grill and allows you to add details on the type of meat you're cooking to get the perfect temperature and timing for your food. A probe also monitors the internal temperature. 

Though long (72 steps in total!) assembly is quite straightforward, and it only needs doing once. Also bear in mind it'll arrive on a crate so you'll need (at least) two people to help move it in sections to where you want to call your 'cooking station'. It's mega heavy.

This is a top choice for those who don't want to compromise when it comes to quality on either cooking mode. It's also easy to clean, and simple to switch between gas and coal plus it features a warming rack for when your timing is a bit off. Not only is it great for cooking for a crowd, but it even has an in-built bottle opener to make for fewer trips to the kitchen. 

All you need to do is insert a charcoal tray, which has a shelf directly underneath the grill for when not in use. Even when using the charcoal tray with this grill you ignite the fuel using the gas burner, which lights easily and only needs to burn for 15 minutes to get the perfect temperature in your charcoal. Both gas and charcoal gave amazing results, so it's the best of both worlds. 

You can easily tell the temperature of your grill using the in-built gauge which goes up to 350 degrees, which is plenty for any meal. You can use this grill to cook just about anything from halloumi to steak, burgers, and even scallops. It also has a side burner which is perfect for, you guessed it: your side dishes.

Assembly took a while but it's sturdy, reliable, and easy to use. We tested the three burner model, but there are also two and four burner models available.

We tested the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S to see if its self-cleaning and modular cooking system was up to the task, and were very impressed. We found that it was more than capable of cooking for over 12 people at once, and the warming rack was great for catering to even more people. Coming in at an affordable price tag, the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S has four burners, a wealth of in-built storage, and a side burner to cook up side dishes. 

There's a thermometer on the top lid of the Campingaz 4 Series Premium S that accurately shows the temperature as you're cooking. This helped to make sure our food was still cooking when the lid was down, and because the dials could turn down the temperature with ease, it offers complete control when cooking steak, etc. 

If you hate cleaning your barbecue, you're not alone. Campingaz took this into account and created InstaClean Aqua technology that flushes out fat and grease from the grill without any hard work on your part. It really does work, too. Just make sure you have a place to empty it out when it's finished.

Love to camp? The Weber Traveler LP BLK Gas grill is a top pick for you (and it's another one that we've tried hands-on!). It has a generous cooking area but folds down to a pull-along for easy transportation. We rated it 4.5-stars out of 5, mostly because of how easy it is to use, clean, and cart around. This Weber grill might be large in size, but if you're a keen cook or love grilling outdoors, then this is definitely the purchase you want to make. It takes the guesswork out of cooking entirely and offers a huge amount of cooking space to use so that you can cook everything all at the same time. It has four burners plus a side burner. If you're someone who often hosts in the summer, then this is the grill for you.

With almost 1,000 square inches of cooking space in total, it is jam-packed with all of the features you'll want in your next grill. It offers a night light for when the days start getting shorter, as well as heaps of storage space from side tables to locker storage. It has a keep warm rack for your food, to help with timings, and it comes with a thermometer probe for checking your meats and fish are ready. 

The entire grill connects to the Webber Connect App, so that you can control it from indoors, and so that you'll be notified when your food is ready. This way, you can spend more time enjoying yourself, chatting with your guests or even prepping side dishes in the kitchen. Just bear in mind that this grill can't keep itself at a set temperature without your help.

This sizeable grill will need to be covered or put away in a garage in the winter months. It needs a small amount of maintenance before use. You need only brush the grill grates and discard any grease.

The Weber Q3200 grill has quality porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates and comes on wheels so that it's easy to move as you need. It will serve up to six people on its two burners, and while the frame is small, the grill covers the entire top surface area so no space is wasted. It can cook 14 burgers at any one time, making it ideal for families and for cooking for BBQ parties.

This grill might be more compact than others on our list, but what it lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in features. The frame is glass-reinforced nylon, and the burners are stainless steel. The body itself is cast aluminum and comes with an in-built thermometer. It also has two side tables that can be folded away easily, and a storage shelf underneath the aluminum frame that keeps tools and other essentials nearby. Its handle even has a light for cooking in the dark.

Testing

Performance aside, the appearance is a little kiddie paddling pool-like, but the thick inflatable sides felt structurally sturdy when we were inside

Testing 
After testing the Helskini model, our reviewer jumped at the opportunity to try another inflatable hot tub. Being a great price but offering all the amenities of a hard-shell model, she called the Hawaii ‘the best of the best’, as far as inflatable hot tubs go. In particular, its portability, powerful jets, and ability to withstand cold temperatures put it at the top. She also liked the square design that offered users a little more legroom.

The important stuff

However, we wouldn’t recommend it for smaller kids. The jump height is too high for little ones and it could be possible to get a small foot pinched in a spring if it fits under a gap in the safety net enclosure.

Design
This trampoline is built to last with a sturdy galvanized steel frame, heavy-duty stitching, UV-treated, weather-resistant enclosure net and jumping mat, and thick, high-quality safety foam on the poles. It is so strong that there is literally no single-user weight limit.

The Springfree Mini Round Trampoline feels just like its 13ft big sister but at just 6ft, it fits just about anywhere. Admittedly, it’s not super mini like our top pick for little kids, but its bounce, jumping surface area and weight capacity are super impressive for a trampoline of its size.

As with the larger model, the flexible composite rods mean there is no need for metal springs around the edges which keeps toes safe. The safety net enclosure attaches directly to the jumping mat so there are no gaps to fit through either. It's down to personal (family) preference, but there are three key factors to consider when choosing yours: 

1. Design If you're struggling to decide between above ground vs inground trampolines, there are a couple of things to know. In-ground trampolines (aesthetically pleasing some may say) are secured, much like the name suggests, in the ground. These remove some of the danger elements of a raised trampoline, but do require excavation for installation. If you want one of these they are harder to set up and more of a commitment – you might want to think ahead about what to do with the hole when the kids grow up. Then there are excellent above-ground trampolines, which are now pretty hi-tech, complete with safety padding and mesh (a very much ‘pimped’ version of what you may remember jumping on as a child).

Easy to inflate, this blow-up hot tub has much thinner walls than most other inflatables, which makes for more space inside the hot tub – and a whopping 1123L water capacity – that allows up to seven adults to enjoy a spa experience at one time (although we think five people ensures everyone has comfortable leg room). The spacious design is matched by a generous 180 massaging air jets.

Features
Despite its thinner walls, this tub feels sturdy, and the wood-effect print on the exterior – inspired by traditional Scandinavian wooden hot tubs – puts it a cut above the average inflatable tub in the looks department. Not to mention, it can heat, massage and filter all at the same time, with the powerful integrated air jet system offering a welcome jacuzzi experience. Bliss! This is also an outdoor spa you can use all year round thanks to its 'FreezeShield' technology. 

Testing
Our reviewer loves this model for its stylish design and its heating capacity that keeps the water temperature at 40 degrees without fluctuation. The downside is that that larger water capacity does cost more to heat, and the thinner walls make it less energy-efficient than some on our list.

Testing
Our tester loved this model and found the Wi-Fi App really handy as she could easily view the real-time pool temperature, and turn the heater, bubbles, and filter on from her phone. That energy-efficient performance also impressed.

If you're looking for an affordable hot tub, then the Lay-Z-Spa Cancun is generally one of the cheapest hot tubs on the market, and has some pretty impressive features to boot.

The important stuff
Similar in size to the Lay-Z-Spa Barbados, the Cancun hot tub shares many of the same specifications, including a 669L water capacity, 120 air jets, and 'FreezeShield' technology that allows it to be used all year round. The big difference is the lack of energy-efficient lining, and the absence of Wi-Fi connectivity.

Features
Although it lacks the insulation of the newer Barbados and Zurich Lay-Z-Spa inflatables in our round-up – and so how much it costs you to heat and maintain the temperature of the water is likely to be higher – the older Cancun hot tub does offer a big reduction in price, with this hot tub generally on sale for well under £300. The wood grain is slightly less dense than teak, but with some maintenance, they still hold up well outdoors, with their quicker growing habit allowing them to be grown and managed to yield greater quantities of wood more sustainably - although again, it's always important to look for FSC accreditation.

Unspecified wood: if a wooden garden bench doesn't specify the type of timber it's made from then the likelihood is that it's a softwood that won't be particularly durable outdoors. Of course, it might be an oversight on the behalf of the retailer, so don't be afraid to ask for more information, but, if a wooden outdoor bench is both a really good price and a nameless 'wood' build, you may be replacing it sooner rather than later, which needs to be factored into whether it really ends up being good value.

Metal outdoor benches

A metal garden bench provides low-maintenance seating, without requiring the regular upkeep a wooden garden bench may demand.

The three main varieties of metal that you're likely come across in outdoor furniture manufacture are steel, iron, and aluminium.

Joints and fixings can also be a weak point, as it's hard to fully powder-coat places where screws may damage the painted surface. Bubbling paint and tell-tale orange streaks are usually the first signs that oxidisation has begun. 

Aluminium: in contrast this metal forms its own thin layer of oxidised material which acts to create a barrier to any further oxidisation, meaning it will stand up better to life outside in the elements. In this case, powder-coating is purely for aesthetics, so you don't need to worry about moisture penetrating into joints and rust forming. It's also lightweight so therefore easy to move around the garden (although may need storing on especially windy days!). Aluminium outdoor furniture is usually more expensive than steel or iron, but if you're looking for patio furniture that will remain strong, durable and have good longevity when left outside in the elements, it's likely to provide  better long-term value.

Plastic patio benches

Man-made plastic outdoor furniture can be one of the cheapest options to buy. It's also low maintenance, requiring no upkeep, is lightweight and easy to move, and can come in a range of bright and playful colors that work well in a family outdoor space. Exposure to the sun and cold can make plastic outdoor furniture brittle and prone to fading though.

However, unless a plastic outdoor bench is made from recycled or repurposed materials instead of virgin plastic, it's rarely a sustainable material choice.
