Best places to buy garden furniture online
Our go-to retailers when looking for good value and the most stylish garden furniture.
B&Q is probably one of the first places many of us look to for garden furniture when the weather starts to warm up, and as such, its garden furniture flew out at the beginning of the year. Stock levels are looking better now though, so it's well worth seeing what's available online or in a store near you.
Barker and Stonehouse
Barker and Stonehouse's super stylish garden furniture had some long lead times for most of the summer, but the good news is that all of the range is now ready to deliver and there are some brilliant reductions to be had if you shop soon – perfect for lining up a garden to envy in 2022...
Makers of timeless rattan garden furniture along with contemporary metal and wooden outdoor designs, specialist garden furniture retailer Bramblecrest now has an online shop where you can buy a great range of designs direct. The majority are available within 7-10 days, with the occasional piece pre-order.
For something a little bit different, Ella James' outdoor living collection is well worth exploring. As well as a great range of stylish outdoor lighting there is a wide selection of hanging outdoor egg chairs and some great garden furniture sets, the majority of which are currently on sale.
There's nothing quite like the buzz of supporting an independent maker, and Etsy is a great place to do it, plus, its specialist sellers usually make to order, so you'll find garden furniture available all year round. As an added bonus you can often specify details too, as with this handcrafted industrial-look wooden outdoor table, or find some vintage gems like the reclaimed folding table from Scaramanga Trading.
Offering low-cost garden furniture that is particularly useful for smaller spaces, Furniture 123 has some affordable rattan-effect dining sets in stock and ready to buy now. The 8 Seater Grey Rattan Cube Garden Dining Set offers generous seating with a small footprint thanks to a space-saving design solution which sees the 4 footstools slot away under the armchairs when not in use, and the armchairs fit neatly under the tabletop for storage. The set also includes a useful parasol to keep off the midday sun.
For good-quality garden furniture, Garden Trading is top of our list, and a lot of the pre-order lines we've been waiting all year for are finally in-stock and available now! The contemporary Amberley sofa set is now available, as is the must-have West Strand three-seater sofa, and the super versatile Selborne double lounger set which doubles as a compact corner sofa or luxurious double sun lounger set for two.
You might have to search a little to find the best buys each week, but Groupon is well worth checking out for bargain bistro sets and patio furniture deals with some big savings. Plus there are good value colourful deckchairs and folding chairs, and some classic sun loungers for less than you might expect.
If you're after well-made, contemporary garden furniture then Heal's is the place to head. From the sleek and minimal Eos garden furniture range to the environmentally-conscious Ocean outdoor furniture from Mater which uses recycled plastic and ocean waste to create a sustainable alternative to traditional garden furniture; there are some good in-stock options to choose from.
One of our first ports of call for reasonably priced garden furniture, Homebase's outdoor furniture usually disappears quickly, and this year was no exception. However, there are still some good value buys left, many of which have some great deals on in the current end-of-season sale.
For affordable but on-trend furniture IKEA is usually high on our radar, and this year the brand has extended its outdoor furniture collection to cater to the new '5th room' of the house; the garden. The contemporary Hattholmen garden table and chair set makes for stylish outdoor seating and the bright red Brusen outdoor bench is ideal for a pop of contemporary colour in the garden.
John Lewis & Partners
As a stalwart of the great British high street, John Lewis' outdoor range was well shopped this summer making in-stock items a little thin on the ground during peak season. Stock is looking a lot healthier now though, and there are some super stylish options on offer.
Better known for its modern homeware collections, MADE's garden furniture range is proof that outside is the new inside – with a fantastic range of colourful and contemporary garden chairs and outdoor lounge sets in the range this year. As usual, the brand's products are made to order, so expect a lead time when ordering – currently between 4–12 weeks.
If you're looking for rattan garden furniture then Moda is a great place to start. From spacious corner sofas to contemporary and space-saving cube patio sets, there are options for small gardens and large. The prices may be a little more than the high street options, but for quality and design it's well worth a look.
The Nkuku outdoor furniture collection focuses on reclaimed materials – from chunky reclaimed teak garden tables and bench seats, to repurposed vintage cinema seats that make the perfect outdoor chairs. There is a bit of a lead time on most lines at the moment, but the eco-credentials make them well worth the wait.
The collection may be fairly small, but there are some good prices and lines that seem to be out of stock everywhere else in QVC's garden collection. We especially like the stylish Amanda Holden Acapulco rocking chair which is a good buy at £90 and available with orange or blue powder-coated steel rockers, and the comfortable Innovators Holly Folding Cocoon Chair – perfect for lounging outdoors when the sun hits.
If you're looking for classic garden furniture at a reasonable price then it's well worth considering the Robert Dyas range, and there is a good selection of in-stock items available to buy right now. From rustic wooden dining tables and chairs to eco-friendly bistro sets made from recycled marine plastic, you might just find something to surprise you.
Rockett St George
Usually better known for its eclectic homewares, Rockett St George has launched a capsule garden furniture collection for 2021. Focusing on metal patio furniture, its pretty two-seater bistro sets and decorative metal garden benches are perfect for smaller courtyard spaces.
It's definitely not usually the first place we would think to look for garden furniture, but this year Ryman has launched a selection of outdoor furniture that you can snap up whilst shopping for those work-from-home essentials. We like the colourful Paulette Table and Bench Set that's great for garden picnics and, with wooden outdoor furniture particularly hard to come by this year, it's great to see the Charles Bentley Acacia 6 Seater Dining Set in stock.
Perhaps better known for its plants and bulbs, horticultural specialist Van Meuwen also offers a range of garden furniture in its online store. From the smart and reasonably-priced garden benches to very affordable Adirondack chairs and budget zero-gravity sun loungers, there are some good outdoor furniture deals to be had.
Although it's more focused on selling to trade, DIY and building materials specialist Wickes also caters to the general public and this summer it has a good selection of garden furniture online and in-store. There are benches, bistro sets and garden table and chairs, along with a good selection of reasonably-priced outdoor parasols to create some much-needed shade.
Who has the best deals on patio furniture?
The best time to snap up a bargain in a patio furniture sale is usually as the summer season is coming to an end between August and October, as that's when retailers are looking to sell off any remaining outdoor furniture lines to make way for the Christmas stock. But there can still be great deals that crop up the rest of the year too.
For the lowdown on the very best places to find outdoor furniture on sale make sure to check out our garden furniture deals page, this is regularly updated with the biggest savings on hanging egg chairs, rattan dining sets, and much much more!
