When does garden furniture usually go on sale?
The best time to buy patio furniture in the sale is usually as the summer season is coming to an end between August and October. This is when retailers launch end of summer sales or mid-season sales to clear through old-season summer stock and free up space in-store and online for Christmas stock.
Of course, that tends to mean that the weather for enjoying your new purchase is coming to an end, but if you don't mind storing your bargains away for the year ahead, then shopping at the end of the season is a great way to save cash – and get ahead of the curve before peak garden furniture prices hit down in March, April, and May.
Beyond that, there are a few other key times of the year to shop; both Black Friday and either the Boxing Day or January sales.
Black Friday garden furniture deals
Often hailed as the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday falls on the last Friday of November, so the next time it will roll around is Friday 25th November 2022.
The term Black Friday originated in the US to denote the first day following Thanksgiving when retailers would cut prices to draw holidaymakers to shop their store's sales. Driven by global brands, the price-slashing event soon crossed the pond, and now Black Friday – closely followed by Cyber Monday – has become one of the UK's biggest consumer extravaganzas, rivaling traditional Boxing Day sales.
The event has also spread to encompass more than one day, with many retailers now starting Black Friday discounting earlier and earlier each year.
Black Friday can sometimes be a hit-and-miss affair for garden furniture sales, as many lines have already sold out in the end of summer sales, but if there is still stock around it's likely to be a very good price.
Boxing Day and January garden furniture deals
Next up are Boxing Day, New Year's Day, or January sales. Again, by this time garden furniture pickings may be slim, with many lines having sold out earlier in the season, but it's also the time of year you're most likely to find the very best prices on last year's garden furniture, as retailers slash prices to clear the decks for new season stock.
However, these dates aren't the only times to score a great deal on outdoor furniture, there can still be great deals that crop up the rest of the year too, and we're here to help you find them!
